Greetings fellow 193rd Association Members. I'd like to take this opportunity to let you know about a new website I started for those who serve and served from all branches of the Military and other services like Law Enforcement and First Responders. The website is www.WeWhoServed.com. I was inspired to do this after reading an email about a book the Air Force and other branches of the services were doing. Of course, in a book there is only so much room for so many stories. On the web there is a much larger amount of space and we'll buy more if the need arises.
I'd like to encourage you to Register and post a short (or long) article about yourself or someone else that is serving or has served in any branch of the service etc. An example would be a loved one can write up something about their departed service member or shy people who cannot write their own bio can have someone else do it for them.
When you register we must temporarily limit your access. You may only submit an article at that point. Later you will be allowed to upload an image. Blog spammers are a huge problem and we don't have the manpower to monitor it 24 / 7.
After your register and submit an article for inclusion it will be scanned to make sure it is not a spam entry. I'm sure most will pass muster. When that is done we will upgrade your status to Author so you can add a picture. In addition, to conserve storage space, we're allowing you to upload only one picture after you become an Author. You can link to as many pictures as you want. There are tons of image linking resources like Facebook, MySpace, Photo Bucket etc. You can usually right click on an image and Copy and Paste it into the online editor. As long as that image stays on Facebook etc. it will appear on this website.
Once you are a registered user you can login and change or update information any time you want. You can also use the RSS feed in Outlook etc, if you know how to do that. You'll be updated on all posts. You can also post comments to anyone that has a registered article. As always, they will first need to be approved. After that you'll be able to comment as much and as often as you like. We hope this becomes an ever growing website that will eventually include tons of features to serve you better.
Thank you for your time and service,
Mike Kelly
